James William Floyd, a resident of Gordon, died Friday, June 24, 2016 at his residence. He was 72.

Graveside funeral services for Mr. Floyd will be held at 1 PM E.S.T. June 27, 2016 at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery in Ft. Mitchell, Alabama with full military honors. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to; Mercys Olive Garden, of which Mr. Floyd was the founder, 3550 Barksdale Road, Gordon, AL 36343.

Mr. Floyd was preceded in death by his son, Jimmy Floyd; son in law, Robert Iddings; sister, Gene; two brothers, Bobby and Tommy.

Survivors include his wife, Judy Floyd; children, Trannie Iddings (Kevin Wells), Bobby Floyd, (Amia), Tammy Mays (May), Steve Floyd (Sandy), Trish Harles (Robert); 19 grandchildren; four sisters, Shirley, Faye, Margie, Joe; brother, Danny.
