Peggie Ola (Edwards) Capps

Peggie Edwards Capps, a resident of Cottonwood, Alabama, passed away peacefully in her sleep on November 4th, 2023 at the age of 76.

A private memorial for close family and friends will be planned, while in lieu of floral arrangements during this challenging period, contributions may be directed towards either Gentiva Hospice or the Associates Christmas Fund of Wesley Place on Honeysuckle.

Mrs. Capps was born and raised in Ashford and attended the local high school before relocating to Cottonwood with her late husband Rodney. The couple worked together as farmers for nearly a quarter-century until Mrs. Capps joined the Houston County Sheriff Department's Civil Division where she served diligently as a Civilian Process Server for fifteen years.

Mrs. Capps was preceded in death by both her parents Pheasee and Bernice Edwards along with her loving husband Rodney Capps whom she shared forty-three years of marriage with.

She is survived by her daughter Nicole and son-in-law Jim Dixon who reside in Barwick, Georgia; brother Larry and sister-in-law Glenda Edwards from Ashford; nephews Brian Edwards (Rachel) and Michael Edwards also hailing from Ashford; great-nieces Grace Edwards residing in Auburn, AL, Emily & Hannah Harrell living in Ashford alongside Whitney Whitehurst (Cody) located in Geneva AL and Justin Outlaw (Karlie) situated within Dothan AL; plus several great-great nieces/nephews. She is also survived by long-time friend Johnny Baker of Ashford.
