Marvin Armstrong Obituary

Marvin Wayne Armstrong, a resident of Cottonwood, Alabama died Wednesday, January 8, 2020 at his home surrounded by his family. He was 75.

Funeral services will be held at 10AM Saturday, January 11, 2020 in Clearman Chapel at Southern Heritage Funeral Home with Pastor Tony Deese officiating. Burial will be immediately following the service at Howard Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Cottonwood, Alabama with Southern Heritage Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 9AM to10AM at the funeral home.

Mr. Wayne spent 28 years at AAA Cooper Transportation before his retirement. He loved the outdoors, both hunting and fishing. He enjoyed playing dominos at the Cottonwood Senior Citizens Center. His most precious times were spent with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Cula Mae Rich Armstrong; his wife of fifty years, Delores Armstrong; two brothers W.A. Armstrong, and Paul Armstrong.

Survivors include his daughter Gayle Armstrong (Charles); a sister, Annette Hartzog ( Jerry); two brothers, Cary Armstrong (Betty), and Jack Armstrong (Marvell); three grandsons, Brad Deese (Tricia), Tony Deese ( Jenna), and Kade Deese; one great granddaughter, Charleigh Bree Deese; many nieces and nephews and a special friend Dot Moore.
