Obituary
Kathy Patricia Smith Hurst, a resident of Dothan and formerly Douglasville, Georgia died unexpectedly Wednesday May 24, 2023 at her residence. She was 61.
Memorial services will be held at 2 PM Saturday, June 10, 2023 at Faith Community Church in Douglasville, Georgia. Burial in Kathy’s final resting place will be held at 2 PM Sunday, June 11, 2023 at Arlington Memorial Park in Sandy Springs, Georgia.
Kathy was born January 6, 1962 in Atlanta, Georgia to the late Ira V. Smith Jr. and Catherine Cecilia Cathcart Smith. She moved to Lithia Springs, Georgia at an early age and was a Hairstylist until her retirement. Kathy had a love of the arts. She enjoyed painting, DJing and Culinary Arts. Kathy met her husband at a ballroom dance class. She attended Faith Community Church in Douglasville, Georgia.
Survivors include her husband, David W. Hurst; stepchildren, Dustin Hurst, Jonathan Hurst (Hope), Valerie Moser, Marilyn Camp (Joe); grandchildren, Justin, Ryker, Corvin, Samuel, David and Cameron; brothers, Bobby Smith (Peggy), Al Smith (Nancy) and Randy Smith (Evon).
