Joseph Shepard Sims

Joseph Shepard Sims, a resident of Headland, Alabama died Friday, January 29, 2021 at Southeast Health. He was 61.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2PM, Tuesday, February 2, 2021 in Clearman Chapel at Southern Heritage Funeral Home.

Born to the late Herbert Shepard Sims  and Johnelle Burgess Rhodes. He was a lifelong resident of the Wirgrass Area. He enjoyed drag racing, boating, farming, fishing, and muddin. Joe was a loving father, brother, and grandfather. Spending precious time with his family is what he dearly cherished.

He is preceded in death by his parents and a stepfather, Jimmy Rhodes.

Left to cherish his memories are his daughter, Ashley Tallent; a brother, Mike Sims; two sisters, Mandy Norsworthy (David) and Dell Ann Boyette (Lucky); four grandchildren, Austen, Addilynn, Hunner, and Zane; special friends, Danny Ellison, Theron Hood, and Terry Oder; numerous uncles, aunts, nieces and nephews; his Alabama Power family along with many friends.
