Johnny Lorell Baxley

Johnny Lorell Baxley, a resident of Ashford, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Wednesday, November 16, 2022 at his residence. He was 88.

Funeral services for Mr. Baxley will be held at 11 AM Saturday, November 19, 2022 at Enterprise Baptist Church in Ashford with Brother Tim Wheeler officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10 AM until 10:45 AM prior to the services at the church. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made in his honor to Enterprise Baptist Church, 25 Enterprise Church Road., Ashford, Alabama 36312.

Mr. Baxley dedicated his life to his church and family. He was a faithful member of Enterprise Baptist Church of Ashford where he served as Deacon. Mr. Baxley was a proud veteran of the United States Army. He retired as a machine mechanic, having worked at Warners, Varnums Canvas, Russell Corp. and was the owner of L and R Canvas Co.

Survivors include his wife, Ruby Clyde Baxley; son, Greg and Debbie Baxley; daughters, Alane and Garry Still, Tricia and Derek Kilgore; grandchildren, Weston ( Ashley) Baxley, Jordan (Garrett) Thomas, Hannah Still, Garrett (Lindsay) Still, Brinley Kilgore and Addison Kilgore; eight great grandchildren and a brother, David (Claudette) Baxley.

Serving as pallbearers will be, Garrett Still, Weston Baxley, Addison Kilgore, Garrett Thomas, Dewayne Baxley and Steven Deese.
