Howard Eugene Smith

Howard Eugene Smith, a resident of Dothan, Alabama died Sunday, March 8, 2020 at his residence. He was 71.

A Celebration of Life service with full military honors will be held at 2PM Saturday, March 14, 2020 in Clearman Chapel at Southern Heritage Funeral Home with Minister Allen Monarch officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1PM to 2PM at the funeral home.

Mr. Smith is preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Vera Reese Smith; a brother, Claude Smith Jr.; and a sister, Sarah Reese.

Survivors include his wife of 49 years Brenda Smith; three sons, Thomas Smith (Marie), Eric Smith, and Jeffery Smith; two sisters, Bertha Moore (Howard), and Betty Putnam; one niece, Debbie Freund (Erik); and five grandchildren.

When I tell you “I love you” I don’t say it out of a habit. I say it to remind you that you are the best thing that has ever happened to me. I LOVE YOU.
