Obituary
Elene Patterson Powell, a resident of Dothan died Thursday, August 3, 2023 at Bonifay Health and Rehab. She was 89.
Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Thursday, August 10, 2023 in Clearman Chapel at Southern Heritage with Pastor Ralph Sigler officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Hill cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 PM until 1:45 PM prior to the services at the funeral home.
Elene was born August 6, 1933 in Dothan, Alabama to the late Alvin Dewey and Daisey Estelle Benton Patterson. She was a lifelong resident of Dothan and a 1951 graduate of Dothan High School. Elene was a bookkeeper for the family business, Simple Simon Auto Parts. She was an active member of First United Methodist Church and will be remembered as a loving, encouraging and supportive, wife, mother and grandmother.
Elene is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert L. Powell; son, Robert “Bob” Lamar Powell and a grandson, Wes Powell.
Survivors include her son, Charlie Powell; four grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren; sisters, Patsy Sorenson (Jimmy) and Quay Lewis.
