Earnest Earl Kirkland

Earnest Earl Kirkland, a resident of Madrid, died Friday January13, 2023 at his residence. He was 75.

Funeral services for Mr. Kirkland will be held at 1 PM Wednesday, January 18, 2023 in Clearman Chapel at Southern Heritage with Brother Luther Pumphrey officiating. Burial will follow in Madrid City cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12 PM until 12:45 PM prior to the service at the funeral home.

Mr. Kirkland was born in Houston County, Alabama to the late Earnest B. and Ressie Lee Gore Kirkland. He worked as a farm hand, sold produce and retired from the peanut mill. Mr. Kirkland enjoyed the outdoors and fishing.

Mr. Kirkland is preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Lois Crooms, Vickie Jacobs and a brother, Eddie Kirkland.

Survivors include his children, Ronnie Kirkland, Donnie Kirkland, Malvia Kirkland and Brenda Tanner; seven grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren; sisters, Dorothy Bell, Glenda Nobles, Janice Hollingshed; brothers, Roy Kirkland and Ray Kirkland.
