Barbara (Gordon) Stockman

Barbara Gordon Stockman, 82, passed away on Sunday, October 15, 2023, at Noland Hospital in Dothan, AL.

Born on April 7, 1941, in the town of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina, Barbara was the beloved daughter of James and Marie Gordon. She married Robert Stockman Jr. in 1961 and moved to Dothan eight years later.  Together, they shared a bond as lifelong companions and cherished friends.  Their union was blessed with three children: Piper, Robin, and Trey.

For over four decades, Barbara dedicated her time and talents to McDaniel and Associates, where she performed a variety of functions.  In her free time, she found joy tending to her garden, attending weekly Sunday School Class, and spending quality time with her children and dog.  Barbara was an extraordinary wife, mother, and grandmother.  She had a servant’s heart and left an unforgettable impact on everyone she encountered. Her absence will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 2, at 1 p.m., in. the Parlor of First United Methodist Church Dothan.  The Funeral Service will follow at 2 p.m. in the Sanctuary of the same church.

Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Stockman Jr..

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Piper Stockman, Robin Adkison, and Trey Stockman, along with her grandchild, Dalice Adkison.
