Barbara Elaine (Shellhouse) Spurlock

Barbara Elaine Spurlock, a resident of Cowarts, Alabama died Monday, April 12, 2021 at her home. She was 75.

A Graveside Service will be held at 2:30PM Sunday, April 18, 2021 at Crestlawn Cemetery in Cowarts, Alabama with Chaplain Kathy Stambaugh officiating. The family will receive friends from 1PM to 2PM Sunday at Southern Heritage Funeral Home.

Mrs. Spurlock was born in Eufaula, Alabama to the late Robert and Margaret Suggs Shellhouse. She has been a part of the Wiregrass Family for fifty-two years. Barbara retired after thirty plus years as a seamstress with WexTex. She was a faithful member of Antioch Baptist church. Her hobbies included serving others at the Cowarts Senior Citizens Center, taking care of her yards, spending countless hours with her friends, and cheering on the Alabama Crimson Tide “Roll Tide”. She cherished the times of taking care of her precious great grandbabies. A loving wife of forty-six years to the late Terry Spurlock, as well as being a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She will be dearly missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

Survivors include a son, Terry Wayne Spurlock (Tammie); two sisters, Becky Harding (David) and Teresa Ann Spurlock; one granddaughter, Kayla Renae Spurlock; two great grandchildren, Parker Brooks McNeill and Ella Kate McNeill as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
