Johnny Middlebrooks

On Monday, March 25, 2019, surrounded by his children, grandchildren, and the love of his life, Gordene, Johnny Middlebrooks passed away after a brief illness. He was 80 years old.

A Memorial Service for Johnny will be held at 1 PM Thursday, March 28, 2019 at Ridgecrest Baptist Church with Reverend Ray Jones officiating. Visitation will be held at the church immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Ridgecrest Baptist Church Building Fund, 1231 Fortner Street, Dothan, AL 36301. Johnny requested his body be donated to the Alabama College of Osteopathic Medicine.

Johnny was actively involved at Ridgecrest Baptist Church, Dothan Leisure Services, and the National Peanut Festival.

Along with his wife of 62 years, Gordene, he is survived by his daughter Tammy Baxter (Richard); his son Marty Middlebrooks (Allison); his grandchildren, Ana Kay Guimarães (Pedro); Meredith Glisson (Josh); John Martin Middlebrooks, III (Laura Pry); Mary Hayden Scout Johnson (Brian); Margaret Poston (Andrew); Matthew Middlebrooks (Caroline); Evan Margaret Foltz (Josh); and seven great-grandchildren. Survivors also include a special sister-in-law Beverly Smoak and her husband Dennis.
