Jimmie Lee Rushing

Jimmie Lee Rushing, a resident of Dothan, died Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at his residence. He was 81.

Memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, October 14, 2018 in the Clearman Chapel at Southern Heritage Funeral Home. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the funeral home.

Mr. Rushing was born April 18, 1937 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina to the late James Tillman and Ruby Lee Clontz. He joined the United States Army and later transferred to the United States Air Force where he retired after 20 years of service. Following his military career, he spent 22 years working for General Electric and retired after 22 years.

Mr. Rushing is preceded in death by his wife, Claudene Rushing; granddaughter, Jessica Rushing; brother, Rudy Rushing; sister, Louise Underwood and his parents.

Survivors include his children, Cathy Miller, James Rushing, Lee and Travis Campbell; grandchildren, Jennifer and Cory Bradford, Chris Miller, Crystal Lee, Shelby Rushing, Meagan and Joe Boutin and Chase Campbell; great grandchildren, Caroline Bradford, Reece Bradford, Madison Miller, Alissa Miller, Claudia Miller and Aubrie Kate Boutin; sister, Margie Janette Byers.
