Earl Henry Hamilton Sr., a resident of Dothan, Alabama died Monday, December 16, 2019 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

A celebration of life service will be held at 10AM on Friday, December 27, 2019 in Clearman Chapel at Southern Heritage Funeral Home. Interment will be held after the service at 2:30PM EST at Fort Mitchell National Cemetery with full military honors. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service from 9AM to 10AM.

Mr. Hamilton was born to the late George and Dorothy Ward Hamilton on January 24, 1947 in Murphysboro, Illinois. After serving 20 years in the United States Army with the rank of Staff Sargent, he retired in 1985.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Francis Droge and a half-brother Woody Lee.

Survivors include two daughters, Cheryl Zapata (Adrian) and Rainae Maynard (David); one son, Earl Hamilton Jr.; the mother of his children, Brenda Hamilton; seven grandchildren, Wayne Jr.  and Corey Riley, Craig and Arin Maynard, Victoria and Tristen Quinn and Cody Oxford; seven great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
