Donis Lavern Butler, a resident of Pansey, Alabama, died June 11, 2017 at her residence. She was 88 years old.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 14, 2017 in the Clearman Chapel at Southern Heritage Funeral Home with Reverend Billy Dickerson and Reverend Olan Trawick officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Gordon City Cemetery with Southern Heritage directing.

Mrs. Butler was born on July 4, 1928 in Ashford, Alabama to the late Alto and Charity Trawick. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Gordon, Alabama.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Harris Butler, Sr., 4 brothers, 2 sisters; and a son, Harris Butler, Jr.

Survivors include her children, Bobby (Deborah) Butler, Peggy Butler, Delores Murphy, Shelby Jean (Rudolph) Lanton, and Brenda Butler; brother, Milton Trawick; 9 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a long life friend Kathryn White.
