William Thomas Burks was born on November 12, 1924 in Monon, Indiana. He was the son of James Elmer and Mary Estella Fulmer Burks.

He was married to Jospehine Jeroski. They were married for 60 years until she passed away on January 8, 2007.

He served in World War II in the 30th Infantry Division in Germany where he was wounded and received the Purple Heart. He was a retired Professional Window Cleaner in Logansport and Ft. Myers, Florida.

He is survived by two sons, William J. Burks and his wife Vickie, and John Burks of Dothan, Alabama.
