Ronald Dean Ditmer, a resident of Dothan, died Friday, June 30, 2017 at Southeast Alabama Medical Center. He was 68.                                             

Funeral services for Ron will be held at 6 PM Thursday, July 6, 2017 in Clearman Chapel at Southern Heritage with Rev. Don Clark officiating. The family will receive friends from 5 PM until 5:45 PM prior to the service at the funeral home.

Ron was born July 28, 1948 in Dayton, Ohio to the late Lowell and Luvenia Thelma Forehand Ditmer. He was a 1967 graduate of Milton Union High School where he started the wrestling program and was a great athelete. Following graduation, Ron joined the United States Navy and later moved to Dothan in the 70’s. He was an electrician by trade and worked with Vinson Plumbing and Electric for over 40 years. Ron was a family man who loved his grandchildren, enjoyed life and making people laugh. He also loved this area and enjoyed playing guitar and his Harley Davidson motorcycles.

Ron is preceded in death by his parents, wife, Pamela Soileau Ditmer, Son, Jamie Ditmer and step father, Grady Rasnic.

Survivors include his daughter and son in law, DeAnna and DWayne Payne; three grandchildren, Hunter, Haylee and Kylie; brother, Gary and Jackie Ditmer; step mother, Doris Ditmer.
