Mark Arthur Bruner, a resident of Montgomery died Saturday, January 13, 2018 at his residence, He was 60.

Funeral services will be held at 2PM Friday, January 19, 2018 in Clearman Chapel at Southern Heritage Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1PM to 2PM. Flowers will be accepted or contributions can be made to Autism Society of Alabama, 4260 Cahaba Heights Court, suite 188, Vestavia Hills 35243.

Mr. Bruner was born to the late Strong Guyton and Scottie Leverett Bruner. Mark retired after 21 years with the Montgomery Police Department. He was a Mason and a member of the Fraternal Order of Police for many years. Mark roamed the sidelines on a many of Friday nights refereeing high school football as a member of the AHSAA Referee Association.

He is preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Kacey Brooks; and a sister Jane Woodruff.

Survivors include two sons, Heath (Audrey) Bruner and Scott (Ashley) Bruner; a daughter, Jessica (Jeremy) Jacks; three brothers, Guy (Linda) Bruner, Scott (Kerstin) Bruner, and Tim Bruner; and nine grandchildren.
