J Quincy Simpler

J. Quincy Simpler, a resident of Dothan, died Monday, March 12, 2018 at Westside Terrace. He was 93.

Funeral services for Mr. Simpler will be held at 2 PM Friday, March 16, 2018 at Mt. Enon Baptist Church with Chaplain Phillip Durr officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 1 PM until 1:45 PM prior to the services.

Mr. Simpler was born September 25, 1924 in Bascom, Florida to the late John Roland and Ella Rhodes Simpler. He was raised in Wicksburg, Alabama and was a veteran of the United States Army. Mr. Simpler was a mechanic by trade and retired from AAA Cooper. He was a former deacon and longtime member of Mt. Enon Baptist Church.

Mr. Simpler is preceded in death by his parents; mother of his children, Tommie Lee “Betty” Simpler and a son, Tommy Simpler.

Survivors include his wife, Ethel Simpler; daughter, Beverly Cook (John); sons, Roger Simpler (Judy), Phillip Simpler (Kay), daughter in law, Nancy Simpler; step sons, Doug Butler (Ann), Randy Butler and Bronson Butler (Erica); seven grandchildren; five step grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren and six step great grandchildren.
