Daniel Briston Young, a resident of Dothan, died Thursday, March 2, 2017 at Southeast Alabama Medical Center. He was 87.

Memorial services for Mr. Young will be held at 2 PM Sunday, March 5, 2017 in Clearman Chapel at Southern Heritage Funeral Home with Chaplain Jody Hadden officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the funeral home.

Mr. Young was born June 9, 1929 in Hillsboro, Texas to the late Daniel and Jessie Dollar Young. Upon graduation he joined the Merchant Marines and later the United States Air Force. He married Josie Mae Morgan and they were married for 46 years until her death in 1996. After his duty to his country he began a career in the textile industry of which he later retired from. Mr. Young was a Texas outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was also an avid coin collector and bottle collector.

He is preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.

Survivors include his daughter and son in law, Pamela Young Ezell and James, son, Daniel B. Young Jr., grandson, Troy Ezell.
