Clyde Ray Hollingshed, a resident of Madrid, died Saturday, April 8, 2017 at Southeast Alabama Medical Center. He was 58.

Funeral services for Clyde will be held at 11 AM Wednesday, April 12, 2017 in Clearman Chapel at Southern Heritage with Reverends Jerry Harden and Edward Hollingshed officiating. Burial will follow in Madrid cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 PM until 8 PM Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at the funeral home. At other times the family will be at the home of Eddie and Sue Kirkland, 85 Broad Street, Cottonwood, AL (Madrid).

Clyde was born in Tulare, California June 13, 1958 to Edward and Margaret Wells Hollingshed. After being raised in Texas and serving in the United States Marine Corps he moved to Alabama in 1990. He was a volunteer fireman for Madrid, Taylor and Hodgesville. Clyde enjoyed watching wrestling, Alabama Crimson Tide and Texas Longhorn football. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather.

Clyde is survived by his wife of 26 years, Janice Hollingshed; four daughters, Samantha Hollingshed, Heather Hodges (Eddie), Margie Harrison (James), Tiffany Hodges (Kevin); 18 grandchildren and one great grandchild; father, Edward Hollingshed (Dianne); three sisters, Rachael James (Phil), April Anderson (Sam), Janie Hollingshed; two brothers, Timothy Hollingshed (Debbie), Dale Hollingshed; sisters in law, Dorothy Bell, Glenda Nobles; brothers in law, Roy Kirkland, Joe Kirkland (Sue), Earl Kirkland, Ray Kirkland, Jerome Jacobs and Curtis Crooms; several nieces and nephews..
